What is happening: A decline in revenue for some tech giants may be having an affect on the airfreight sector.
Apple: Apple saw their first decline in revenue and profit in over a decade in December 2018. Revenue dropped by 4.5% to $84.31 billion in Q4. iPhone sales also fell by 15% compared to 2017.
Issue: Apple must now fight to reignite interest in the iPhone, with other tech giants such as Samsung facing similar problems.
China: Technology companies may look outside of China for answers, with dropping sales and US trade tensions. India may be hot property moving forward.
Airfreight: The airfreight sector may already be feeling the impact in this tech sale change. Demand fell by 2.3% in the Asia-Pacific markets in November, which is where Apple suppliers are based.
